Bright Lights 35

Dedicated to Sara from KSA

Thanks all for your sweet comments ;**

Enjoy :*

Days passed by, my relationship with Fahad improved and it was getting stronger. We were inseparable, we always manage to hide from the campers and the chaperons and have some alone time with each other,

Some days we would sneak out of the camp campus and just go somewhere near by and watch the beauty of the area surrounded us. We always sneak out alone. It’s more fun when it’s only us. Ngdar nakhth ra7atna together it feels better knowing that we’re not watched.

This time, I managed to make Fahad stay up with me to watch the sun rise. Fahad is not that romantic but he tries his best to please. He doesn’t always do what I say, but sometimes I know how to find my way around him,

Me: the sun is rising

Fahad was lying down on his back while I was on my tummy resting my head on his chest listening to his heartbeats.

We were playing “have you ever” we’ve been playing it for almost everyday now… only our rules are different… Our rules are that if we said the same answer to the question that starts with “have you ever” we would kiss, if we don’t there would be no kiss.

I raised my head from his chest and looked at him,

Me: have you ever… kissed a guy on the lips?

Fahad: 6ab3an la2

Me: well I did

We won’t kiss because our answers are not the same.

Fahad: how many guys?

Me: No ghashash may9eer … you can only ask questions that starts with “have you ever”

Fahad: enzaain ana s2alt al7een jawbay

Me: shbeefdk el jawab y3ni … (he gave me a look) uff okay, a lot

Fahad: a lot, as in 2-3 guys?

Me: No! Well a lot as in the number of girls you’ve kissed!

Fahad: ya salam 3aleech!

Me: eeh ha sh3abaalik! … Enzaain yalla it’s your turn

Fahad: enzain, have you ever drunk alcohol?

Me: once by accident! Ma kan 8a9dy

Fahad: how so?

Me: In Germany, I was young I don’t remember chum 3umry… el mhm I was running with my aunt and we decided to stop at a restaurant to chill and have something to drink… once the waiter gave us the drinks menu I quickly pointed at an ice cold blue drink kan shakla eshaawg… I was so thirsty I didn’t even ask what it was … my aunt told the waiter about our orders and he came back with my blue drink … ana mn kether ma ana 36shana awal ma 36ani el glass I drank half of it … 3gb estaw3bt, it tasted like Vicks! … kent ga3da at7al6am ena mu 3ajbni w wai3 mara7 akamla … 3mity zafatni w galatly “Allah ehadach entay kelshay t6lbeen, yuba sakray khashmich w shrbee” … I couldn’t drink it, we called the waiter w asked him what the drink was chan egool “this is alcohol” ohwa gal chethy wela 3amity t9arikh “STAGHFURALLLAAAH!!! WE ARE MUSLIMS!!!”

Fahad: KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK 3mitich film!!

7abeeeby I love his laugh!!

Me: haha w enta fe mara jarabt?

Fahad: la2!

Our answers are different,

Me: okay y3ni no kiss, so my turn, hmm have you ever bungee-jumped?

Fahad: yes

Come on this is third question. We still haven’t kissed!

Me: uggghhh lucky !! my parents mayr’9oon!! How was it!

Fahad: I’ll take you

Me: wallah!! You would?

Fahad: if we ever got married.

Me: shut up!! … your turn yallah.

Fahad: hmm have you ever met someone 3eed melada nafs yours?

Me: Yes!

Fahad: Yes !!!

Finally! we crushed our lips into each other.

Me: (I pulled away) wait, when is your birthday?

Fahad: January 9th.

Me: ana September 20th

Fahad: I know!

Me: of course you do (I leaned in and placed my lips back on his)

That’s basically what we do when we spend sometime together. We don’t talk a lot about the past or about anything serious … we just enjoy each other’s company and have fun.

Some days, on the weekends, Fahad and I would walk to the children’s camp, which is a mile away from ours; since we don’t have any competitions or activities to do, We would volunteer to watch over the toddlers. The toddlers only come over the weekends for specific hours

There was this kid, Anderson, he is so cute and funny. He was our favorite. Fahad and I love messing around with him.

Andy: I don’t like your blonde hair.

Me: why so? (I turned to Fahad) hathy sowalfk, enta shem3alm el yahel

Fahad: KAAK wallaa mayebtla 6aary

Andy: I like brown hair better.

Me: and why is that?

Andy: my mom is brunette; my girlfriend should look like her

Me: awwwh that’s cute … you always surprise me with your answers … Fahad, at this kid has some good reason for not liking my hair mu entaaa!! Shnu 3thrk?

Fahad: ohwa yat 3ala your hair color!

Me: what does that supposed to mean?

Fahad: sha3rich, loon 3ainch, 7awajbch, athonich, eadich, rkaabich, koo3ch

Me: what’s left? Kelshay mu 3ajbk

Fahad: yabeelich taghyeer shamel … w tajmeel 7ag khashmch

Me: ohh!! I haateee yooou Fahad! … 3yal taby agoolk aghla6 wayk!

Fahad: eeh shfee

It’s perfect!

Me: your eyes are too small and your nose is too big and you have no lips! (I lied)

Fahad: oh yeah.

Me: yeah!

I was too busy arguing with Fahad, I didn’t hear Andy sneeze

Andy: isn’t anyone going to say bless you?

Me: oh … I’m sorry. Bless you Andy.

Andy: thank you, I owe you!

Me: hahaha you’re hilarious!

That’s how our days are like. Some days entanajar and some days sh7leelna mafena shay … Sa3at ng3d m3a b3’9 trying to be romantic, bas we all know Fahad, he can’t be romantic … lazm yt6anaz w joke around. I enjoy his comments and enjoy talking back at him, I believe that’s what makes us who we are.

One night, Fahad and I sneaked to the lake and got on a canoe and paddled far away from camp and we planed to come back before sunrise before anyone notices that we’re missing.

Me: you know I’m studying interior design. Though for my masters I’m thinking of going for architecture.

Fahad: you wanna start your own business w chethy

He was paddling and I was just sitting there facing him and talking about my future,

Me: laish la2 … but first I wanna I have my own place … a beautiful house where I would build it and design it the way I want

Fahad: w baytch shloon tabeena ykoon?

Me: I don’t know … bs ra7 ekoon ghareeb, modern … colors, stones, fabrics all mixed together. I would choose my furniture just like the way I choose clothes. Every season it would be different, like colors, style, everything … my house is gonna be breathtaking

Fahad: you can have it all now… tgdreen tshtreen el ar’9 w tabneeha methl ma tabeen

Me: no, it’s too soon … I wanna graduate first and then buy a house … b3dain I’m too busy with school and modeling I don’t have time to do all that

Fahad: enzain etha getlch abeech et3adleen w et2athitheen baiti eli bel Kuwait … 3ala tho8ich etsawoon feh eli tabeen … would you do it?

Me: men 9ijk!

Fahad: laish la2 … ana wath8 mn thou8ich

Me: goool wallah!!!! (I said in disbelief)

Fahad: wallah, laish achathb 3aleech … baity 9arla chum sena chethy 3ala 7a6eta mu em2athath wala shay

Me: waalllaaaa I would do it!! … you’re gonna let me do whatever I want 9aa7?

Fahad: mu whatever you want … shawreeni eb b3’9 el ashyaa2!

Me: okay I don’t mind … it’s your house after all!! … wanaasaa lmn enrid el Kuwait I wanna go see your house w I wanna get an idea of what I’m going to work on … I’ll start working on enshallah bel winter (I said excitedly) how many rooms, kitchens, bathroom, living rooms, … tell me everything. … I’m already imagining the wall colors and the stones I’m gonna choose!

Fahad: okay okay … haday shway

Me: haha wayd eshta6aait 9a7 (I laughed)

Fahad: shway (he lovingly smiled at me)

Me: Fahad 7abeebi lw en7a not on the canoe I would’ve hugged you

Fahad: bs hug!

Me: la tkhaleeni eyeelk w aglb el canoe 3aleena

That’s how our days are like. We talked about everything … our dreams, our goals, our future; we talk about the things we love; things that make us happy… We never mentioned our pasts though. He has his past and I have mine… Things happened in the past and we’re willing to keep them there; things that we’re not proud of. There is no need to open some close doors. I know both our pasts were painful and a little shameful maybe. There are some things Fahad wants to open up with me about but something is stopping him. Fahad might know everything about my past but I don’t know anything about his. I’ll be more than willing to know it; I’ll more than glad to know anything about him… I’m sure when the time is right he will tell me everything, the good and the bad.

Bright Lights 34

We got up the next day, got ready and walked together to the cafeteria. We were starving.

We got ourselves plates and started placing food in them,

Me: so what do we have for today?

Nicole: Arrow shooting.

7aneen: NOO!

Emma and 7aneen are the worst arrow shooters I’ve ever seen.

Emma: we’re so losing

Me: no, we’re not. You got Nicole and me, we’re experts … let’s hope Sa3ad and Fahad are good at it too.

Emma: speaking of the devil, he just walked in. (We all turned to look at him)

Me: looking hot as ever

7aneen: why is he always topless

Me: to show off his well-sculpted body

Nicole: look at you… you guys are drooling

Me: so are you! Come on, look at him

Emma: and he tells you to cover up!?

We walked to our table. We sat down and started eating. It looks like we haven’t eaten in ages.

Fahad: Good morning (he came in from behind me and sat next to me)

Me: Morning

His hand was on my knee. I placed my hand on top of his.

Fahad: ams bleel shsaweetay?

Me: haha laish?

Fahad: bs

Me: I was with the girls

Fahad: shetsawoon

Me: having fun!

Fahad: mara thanya dawrolkm shay thany testansoon feh … eb tesb7oon seb7aw el 9b7 mu n9 el lail

Me: you saw us?

Fahad: la2 bs sm3t 9rakhkm

7aneen: ashwaa!

Fahad: laish shmsaween?

Me: ams 7aneen ezlgat fa khayfa enkm shftooha

That was the best lie I could come up with! Enshallah ma agola we were swimming naked. Ra7 ythba7ni.

Fahad: deraw balkm

Me: we will

He got up and went to his friends.

Me: shit, he knows about last night; but luckily he didn’t see us (I whispered to the girls)

Emma: haha too bad … next time ask him to join us

I kicked her leg from under the table.

Me: He’s mine, and I’m not sharing

We all ate our breakfast.

At around 11:30 am we were all gathered around, getting ready for the competition.

Each team got an arc and some arrows.

We were supposed to show how angle displacements along with pullback distance have an effect on the trajectory of an arrow.

We have to try different angles with different distances and collect the data. We will use that data later today. They will draw six circles in random places in the yard and they will ask each member of the team to shoot an arrow inside one of the circles. In order to do so, we have to use the data that we calculated to get the arrow inside the circle. The team who gets the highest number of circles will win.

Nicole and I did this hundred of times, we are sure that we’ll get our circles. So we got two circles out of six. We’re not going to score in two circles because of Emma and Haneen; they’re terrible. If Fahad and Sa’aad get their circles then we’re on the safe side.

I turned my face to the right and I caught Fahad staring at me. I smiled and asked him,

Me: have you tried this before

Fahad: arrow shooting? (I nodded) eeh

Me: so do you think we’ll win?

Fahad: hmm with all four of you girls, ma a3t8d!!

Whoa, hold on… he’s underestimating my abilities!

I will show him what we girls can do!

Fahad: geltlch bnakhser

Me: well that’s because of you guys !! you and sa3ad screwed this up for us!! (I yelled at him)

Emma: yeaaah!! You fucktards!!

Me: you didn’t get any shot, so shut your lousy mouth

Nicole: I’m quitting this team! You guys are losers

Me: I’ll join you!

Sa3ad: it’s just a competition guys

As you can see, we lost the competition.

Nicole: you and Fahad didn’t take it seriously!

Nicole and I made our shots so we got four points for our team. And then came 7aneen and Emma who obviously didn’t do anything. And then Saad and Fahad each got one point coz they were fooling around and didn’t make an effort to actually score. Overall, we got six points out of twelve! Leaving us the second to the last team to win.

Nicole and I weren’t really angry; we were just pretending to be. It was actually funny; well, we had fun losing.

It was almost sun set; as usual we all gathered around the campfire.

I sat next to Fahad. He stretched his hands and intertwined his fingers with mine.

I sat there quietly next to him enjoying the moment. The people I love and care about surrounded me. Not that I love Fahad, but he is special to me.

Fahad: having fun? (He asked me in a low voice)

Me: a blast.

He let go of my hand. His arms went behind my back. He pulled me closer, resting his chin on top of my head. I wrapped my arms around his waist buried my face into his chest.

The guys started the music. Some girls stood up to dance. Emma and Nicole joined them. Haneen however was giving me some looks teasing me. I ignored her. I was more concentrating on Fahad’s scent.

I moved my head a little and looked up and met Fahad’s gaze. He smiled and bent his head and kissed me. It was only for few seconds but it was long enough to make my heart beat faster and for my lips to tingle.

This is probably the first time Fahad kiss me in front of the guys. I don’t think anyone noticed though. Everyone was busy doing his/her thing.

I turned my head and I saw Wasan staring at us. I looked up to Fahad he was staring at the fire.

For a second, I thought he kissed me just to make her feel jealous. But I was relieved that he didn’t even notice her.

I really have some trust issues. My previous relationship taught me a lot. I’m not willing to make the same mistakes again. I should trust Fahad, but I should also not give him my full trust. I don’t want to keep my trust on him totally so that I wont be broken if he ever cheated on me. This way it would make it easier for me to move on afterwards.

Enshallah he’s gad el the8a eli ana ma36eta eyaha. I don’t wanna regret this. I’m hoping this relationship would work.

Fahad caught me staring at Wasan, and gave a questioning look,

Fahad: gomaay 6egeeha b3d

I turned my eyes away from him and looked at the people around us.

Fahad: khaleeha twaali

Me: mu hamatni (I said without looking at him)

Fahad: 9aboy 6al3eeni

I looked him in the eye.

Me: Hoody, I don’t like sharing.

Fahad: baba, you need to trust me.

Me: 7abeeby I’m trying

Fahad: I know

He pulled me closer to him and kissed the tip of my head.

Sa3ad: (he gave me a weird look) okay?

Me: see ya

I ran my way back to the cabin.

I slammed the door shut, making everyone turn to me.

Emma: oh God, not again

Nicole: are you okay?

Me: yeah, (I sat on my bed next to 7aneen)

7aneen: shfeech? Did you talk to Fahad

Me: No, he didn’t follow me … I’m fine guys, just leave me alone.

Emma: hmm, okay…

All three of them walked out of the cabin, they all knew I wasn’t okay. They knew I would tell them as soon as I calm down. Now, it’s not the right time to talk to them.

I got under the sheets and dug my face into the pillow.

7aseet eni babchi bas there is no point in doing so. I shouldn’t be crying over him. Ana mu hameta, ohwa lazm mayhmni.

I was so angry with myself. Why did I ever think that something could ever happen between the two of us?

This is just an act, Wasan is right; he’s playing me. She knows him better than I do. She was his freaking fiancé. I’m his just fake one.

I felt someone walk into the cabin. I know it was 7aneen. She probably came to check up on me.

Me: 7aneen mafeeni shay wallah bas mabi ashoof a7d

…: gomay bakalmch

I quickly sat up when I realize who it was,

Me: Fahad? … shetsawii hnee

Fahad: okay 7eta ana I overhead you talking to Cloud about me

Me: I wasn’t talking about you!

Fahad: you were.

Me: whatever, I’m tired … please leave.

Fahad: I wont leave until you admit how much you like me!

He leaned closer, thinking I would kiss him

Me: Hoody mu fa’9yatlk! (I whispered)

His lips got closer to mine. As much as I hate to say it, his lips are irresistible.

I leaned in until we locked lips. He kissed me and I kissed him back.

I pulled back.

Me: Fahad, I like you but I not ready to get married

Fahad: okay mu lazm entzawaj al7een, we can start dating and then we’ll see where we’ll get from there

Me: you’re begging me to be your girlfriend (I started giggling)

Fahad: shasawii feech y3ni (he chuckled)

Me: okay, yes, I’ll be your girlfriend (I smiled)

He kissed me goodnight and left the cabin.

I jumped out of bed grabbed my towel and walked outside to the lake. I knew the girls were out there.

Me: I see you guys swimming without me! (I said in an almost whisper tone)

Nicole: jump in!!

Me: Fahad is still up!

Nicole: He just went to his cabin, we were watching

Me: stalkers!

I took off my dress and threw it on the dock next to my towel. I jumped into the water, it was colder than it was earlier. I took off my bikini top and threw it on the dock. It was dark no one could see through the water. I then took off my bikini pants.

7aneen: I miss those days…

Emma: ahhh what an amazing feeling

We started splashing water at each other. The place was filled with our laughter.

7aneen: HAHA GUYS!! Shush … We’re gonna get caught!

We tried not to make any noises; I hope no one sees us.

We stayed for an hour and then we decided to head back and rest. We were exhausted.

We wrapped the towels around our bodies tightly and held our clothes and started running barefoot back to the cabin.

Emma: haha this was fun we should do it more often

Me: totally

We all got into our pajamas and tucked ourselves in bed.

Me: I’m so hungry … I don’t remember eating anything today.

Nicole: so do I !!!

Emma: shut up guys, you’ll get to eat in the morning!

We wished each other goodnight and we all drifted off to sleep.

Bright Lights 32

He moved my body so that I’m facing him. He had both hands on my tiny waist. I felt so little between his grip.

Fahad: yal 3a9la

Me: I’ll take that as a complement

Fahad: yal the8a

Me: e7gli

I slowly got away from his grip and swam away. Every time he gets closer, I would swim further.

Fahad: shetsaween (he’s wondering why I’m not letting him near me)

Me: mu hatha (pointing at my body) mu 3ajbk … shtaby lazg feni 3ayal

He laughed.

I laughed along with him but still didn’t let him get any closer.

Fahad: y3ni ma agdar a9eedch?

Me: try me

I swam as fast as I could, trying to reach the dock before he could get to me.

Suddenly I felt his arms around my waist carrying me towards him,

Fahad: HAHA T7ADEENI HAA?

Me: HAHA NO, LET GO!!

He turned me around; so that my right side was touching his bare chest. he was holding my body that my feet are not touching the bottom of the lake anymore.

We were still laughing as he was planting kissed from my cheek back to my neck.

Me: HOODZ … KHALA9 YOU’RE … TICKLING ME!

I tried to let go of his grip but he was stronger.

This is what happened all day. We were just fooling around and having fun. We didn’t have any conversation or any argument. The day was perfect.

By the time the sky got darker, we decided to get out of the lake. It was against the camp rules to swim at night. Fahad doesn’t know about what the girl and I had in mind. We’re definitely swimming naked tonight.

He helped me get up on the dock.

Me: shoof a9ab3y they’re all wrinkly… wayd 6awalna (I told him as I was drying myself with my towel)

Fahad: eeh yal 3ayooz

Me: hey, it’s not just my fingers, 7eta enta yal shayb.

He smiled …

I wore my dress over the bikini

Me: khnroo7 el campfire akeed kelhm hnak now.

Fahad: mashy, bs ana rad el cabin abadel w ayy … awa9lch you’re cabin?

Me: la 3ady I’ll come with you, an6erk … ana mani embadla

Fahad: eli labsta shafaf, ma tg3deen jdam el shabab chethy

Me: kaify

Khazny khaza eli ana te9arwa3t!

Me: shnu y3ni, kho it’s dark mara7 ebayn shay … w it’s not like I don’t photo shoot eb bikini!

He gave me his back as he was walked to his cabin. I followed and he was ignoring my existence.

Me: Fahad shda3wa, y3ni za3alt?

Fahad: 9aba (he stood up in front of his cabin door not letting me walk in) emshay jdamy le your cabin w badlay eli 3aleech

Me: wai3 y3ni you have to ruin everything … tawa shzeenk bel lake … wai3 wai3 don’t talk to me!

I left him and walked to the cabin.

3nad 3aleeh I’m not going to change! Kaify! Besides we’re going to swim b3dain fa mala da3i abadel uff!

I stormed into my cabin; the girls were there.

Nicole: whoa, what did he do now?

Me: stupid ass Fahad wants me to change into something decent to wear in front of the guys … he thinks this is too revealing.

Emma: so what now? He’s your boyfriend?

Me: no but…

7aneen: what’s the big deal, just change into another dress… Abdullah is always like that … I’m not allowed to wear shorts and stuff in front of guys and what not.

We all turned to face her… She was barely wearing anything. She was wearing the smallest shorts ever and a tank top that was barely covering her tummy and cleavage.

7aneen: WHAT? (Surprised by the way we were looking at her)

We all gave her the look-at-what-your-wearing look

7aneen: well, he’s not here and he can’t see what I’m wearing … besides he’s not my husband yet

Me: and you’re telling me to listen to Fahad because?

7aneen: my point is, please him when you’re with him and when you’re not please yourself

Nicole: that’s the worst advice I’ve ever heard

Emma: whatever Saba; show him who the boss is, and show him some skin!

Me: haha see that’s more like it!

We all walked out and headed to the campfire. The guys came and hugged me welcoming me back.

As I was letting go of Hans, I saw Fahad coming towards the fire. Burning me with his death stares.

His stares actually scared the shit out me.

I gave him a look and turned my head the other way y3ny za3lana. I wanted to show him ena I don’t care w eni mu khayfa mn na’6rata.

7aneen: you’re dead meat (she whispered into my ears)

Me: chubbay mu waqtch!

7aneen: gomay badlay

Me: I think ohwa m3a9b coz he saw me hugging Hans … w Hans el 8aleel adab his hands were all over me (I whispered to her)

7aneen: ya salam 3aleech!

Me: shtabeeni asawi y3ni he’s not my boyfriend mala 7ag yt7akam feni

7aneen: come on y3ni it’s obvious that he’s into you

Me: shsawii enzain?

Me: heey 7aram tara he’s not that bad!

7aneen: w gemna endaf3 3ana

Me: chub

I stood up looking at him; he was staring at me of course. I gave him a seductive look wanting him to follow me as I turned around and walked to the stables; I hope he gets the sign.

I went to Cloud; he didn’t follow. I waited and waited. I waited for hours. It was almost midnight. He didn’t show up. He’s definitely mad at me.

Fuck, now how am I going to fix this?

I said bye to Cloud and walked back to my cabin. I figured everyone is back to sleep. We have a competition tomorrow; they’re probably resting.

On my way to the cabin I heard some voices, people arguing,

Fahad: We need to talk

Me: 3adi you don’t have to explain youself … maku shay baina 3ashan a7asbk 3aleh

I started walking away. I can feel him following.

Fahad: ne6ray,

I stoped and finally turned to face him. I waited for him to talk,

Fahad: laish ma badaltay?

Me: malik shghl … you don’t have the right to ask me all of those questions

Fahad: asf 3ala eli sm3tee, maku shay baini w bainha
